About the ACO
The Orchestra
The ACO was founded by Conductor Andrew McMullan in 1991 to provide live classical music concerts to residents of Florida's Treasure Coast and valuable cultural opportunities to our youth. Through programs directed toward young musicians, Youth Outreach and Young Artist Discovery Programs have brought many talented soloists to our stage and encouraged them to pursue lifetime careers as musicians. In 2004, a two year search for a successor to Andrew McMullan, founder, Director and Conductor of the orchestra since its inception in 1991 culminated in the selection of Maestro Stewart Robertson, internationally acclaimed Grammy award nominee and conductor of the Florida Grand Opera. Under his direction since its 2005 season, the ACO continues to thrive, providing superior classical performances and valuable cultural and educational opportunities to Treasure Coast residents of all ages.
